Rancho Springs Medical Center Awarded Perinatal Care Certification from The Joint Commission
Rancho Springs Medical Center, a campus of Southwest Healthcare System, has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Perinatal Care Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and comprehensive patient care. Rancho Springs Medical Center is one of only seven hospitals in California to receive this honor.
The certification recognizes Rancho Springs Medical Center’s efforts to achieve integrated, coordinated, patient-centered care for pregnancies and births. The certification uses standards, guidelines and The Joint Commission’s perinatal care core performance measures for managing and monitoring aspects of perinatal care that are critical to improving and maintaining the health of newborns and their mothers.

Rancho Springs Medical Center underwent a rigorous on-site review. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards including program management, supporting self-management, and delivering clinical care. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts, providers, measurement experts and patients. The reviewers also conducted on-site observations and interviews.
